Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest, Hungary
The Vajdahunyad Castle stands majestically amidst lush greenery under the clear blue sky of Budapest's City Park (Városliget). Constructed for the Millennium Exhibition celebrating Hungary's thousand years since the arrival of the Magyars to the Carpathian Basin at the turn of the century between1896–1897, this castle is an amalgamation of architectural styles from various historical periods including Gothic, Renaissance, Neo-Gothic, Romanesque Revival, and Baroque elements. It features intricate carvings that depict Hungarian history along its exterior walls. A popular tourist attraction today, it also serves as one of the venues hosting the annual Sziget Festival.
