The Royal Courts of Justice in London

A majestic Gothic Revival masterpiece stands tall under the blue sky along Strand Street near Chancery Lane station - it's none other than the Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ), also known as 'the Rolls Building'. This iconic landmark is home to some of England & Wales' most significant courts including the Supreme Court building which opened here in October 2009. Its intricate stonework, pointed arches, flying buttresses are just part of what makes this structure not only architecturally impressive but historically rich too; since its construction between 1876–1882 by Sir George Gilbert Scott, it has been an enduring symbol for justice within British society.
