Handcrafted reed boats rest gently upon the placid waters of Lake Titicaca in Peru. These iconic vessels are woven from totora reeds which grow naturally around the lake's edge. In the background, floating islands made entirely out of these same materials dot the horizon under a sky streaked with wispy clouds.
