Covered Wooden Chapel Bridge Lucerne
Spanning the Reuss River at the heart of Lucerne's Old Town is this iconic covered wooden bridge known as Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge). It connects the medieval part of town to the Jesuit Church across the water. Originally built around 1408, it has been rebuilt several times after fires. Along its length are murals that depict scenes from Lucerne's history. In the background stands the Jesuit Church with Baroque architecture featuring twin towers and ornate spires. Beyond these historic structures lie the majestic Alps under a sky painted with strokes of clouds and sunlight.
