Unique Dragon Blood Trees of Socotra

An impressive dragon tree stands resiliently amidst the rugged terrain of Socotra Island in Yemen. Its branches sprawl out like an ancient sentinel's sprawling arms, topped by lush green leaves that contrast beautifully against its stark grey trunk. This unique plant is known for its thick sap which has historically been used as a dye and medicine. Surrounding it are other endemic species adapted to the island's harsh climate: dry, rocky soil underfoot and sparse rainfall overhead.
