Marienplatz in Munich, Germany

Overlooking the bustling Marienplatz square from above, this image captures the iconic New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) to its right – an impressive Gothic Revival masterpiece completed at the end of the 19th century by architect Friedrich von Gärtner. Dominating the left side is the magnificent Frauenkirche or Our Lady's Church, also known as the Cathedral Church of our Blessed Lady in Munich, standing tall since it was consecrated back in 1528. Both buildings are symbols of Munich’s rich history against a backdrop of a clear blue sky dotted with wispy clouds, while the city sprawls out beneath them, filled with countless rooftops that hint at the vibrant life within.
